Rare Rare Sighting.....

Me in a Dress...

I usually only jack myself into a dress come funeral or wedding time, so this is indeed a rare sighting. This is what happens when you drag me to Dillards to clearance shop, cause that shit is STILL too expensive on clearance. So I wondered into the juniors prom section and started trying on dresses.

Then I made friends with the girls in the dressing room and we took pictures, cause I apparently am kin to my mother!

H4G

There is so much more to the name "Hope4Grace" than just what I titled my blog. It's the middle names of my precious children, a way to honor what they mean to my life ... it's also how I try to live my life "I'm hoping for his continued grace everyday". So it's a very privately special thing to me, just in case you ever wondered why it was Hope4Grace.

Even if I lose interest in posting on this blog, the name will stay with me for-evah. Cause I'm loyal like that. But fear not to my two readers (hi mom), I'm not going anywhere.

Just relecting today on the little name that means so much to me.

Ta-da

In October I hit up goodwill for a really old and nasty 70's end table. And bought all the crap to refinish it. And just this past weekend, I actually did it.

Lord Help My Stupid Self

I am too old for this shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhite.

Good lord it was difficult to walk upright today, I was tempted to go to work in my mickey mouse pjs and lock myself in the office but I put on my big girl panties and sucked it up. The prayer helped.

When my alarm went off and I slid off my tall bed (that seemed like a good idea at the time) my knees checked out and I hit the floor, so I went ahead and prayed for mercy.

Four hours of softball on Saturday, then yesterday I lost my ev-ah loving mind. I spent four hours cleaning out the jeep then uninstalling a cargo hold by myself. Cause I'm stupid. Seriously, good lord. Then I rearranged my room.

Intelligence is measured by various things and I'm lacking a few of those things. Apparently my brain still thinks we're 20 and my body is pulling back the reins going "SLOW DOWN BESSIE".

But I'm learning, cause my body has hammered my brain all day and they are slowing coming to an agreement....... I'm stupid.

But man, I got a clean jeep and bedroom looks hot! Too bad I'm sleeping all alone in that king sized bed, sigh.

So I've been busy this past forev-ah! Good grief, between work and all that jazz it's been fun and hectic. Dave is on assignment up in Okie country. Miss that man, but life goes on down here. I'll start with today since it's the most recent on my mind. Today Prin tried out for our little town's softball team. She and her BFF are too excited since it's their first year to ever play. Can't believe that after all this time, she finally is showing interest in mom's game. So after a quick hair appt (ummm, not a bad mom but tryouts were suppose to be last night and they rescheduled them last night to today, hence my running out of the hair salon with wet hair in a pony to race across the county line to the fields to watch her. I got there just in time believe it or not.)

So in the bleachers watching a bunch of old men run the tryouts was fun. They needed a catcher though for the girls to do field tryouts. So my girlfriend grabbed a glove and went outfield while I played catcher, my knees will not thank me tomorrow. Prin was cool! Except, she missed a popup thanks to the setting sun and took it in the forehead. Seriously, I dropped my glove and was in the process of fixing to run to her when she shook it off and chased the ball down, firing it to 1st. My jaw hit the dirt. My princess girly girl just acted like a ballplayer. Holy crap, I was dancing in the dirt behind home plate. Until she whistled at me and shook her head, then I remembered that I was an adult and stopped.

But then it was batting tryout time and none of the guys could pitch so Prin volunteered me. I tried every excuse in the book but got outvoted and tried real hard to get close to them and slow it real real real down and lob them over the plate.
I only pegged one kid in the leg, and it was my kid. Go figure. I won't live this one down. She seriously just threw a hand on her hip and was like "mom, seriously? me?". Sorry honey. But then I caught her ball and felt a little better, lol.

BFF rocked it too, throwing out a bunt at the last minute.

But for a kid that never plays, she got serious and showed up ready to do this. I was so damn proud.

Seriously, although she finally stepped out of the box and was like mom, you can't cheer for me from the mound. Stop it. lol.

That ball to the head? Yeah, look at the popknot my baby has. No tears, just a request for a Sonic coke and some asprin. Gotcha babe.

But my hair appt went well, I gots me some spring blonde back in my do.

And a chance to introduce you to my bestest stylist ev-ah. Isn't he fabo, in his pink vinyl apron? We talked Glee the whole time.

And since you missed it, I got to try out what I want for my birthday. Dream on, I know right. But it's so damn purty.

Otherwise we're good. Kids made the team and we start at the end of the month, will be traveling around to various local towns competing. She is super excited and frankly so am I.

So things are running along at full speed here. Dave is snowed in up at glorious Tulsa. Just enjoying the shoveling, work and etc. The kids and I are break neck speed here just keeping things going here at home. Piano lessons are good, children are making a joyful noise (ekkk). Prin is still breathing and doing well. Talking with her momma again and keeping me up to date but I"m not holding my breath that we're out of any target bombing areas. The shock has wore off and I'm a quick learner so here we go. Staying one step ahead of her is my new life mission apparently. It's almost like directing a space mission, the logistics are insane. Where's my helmet with the fancy radio thingy? But in an effort to keep her too busy to be devious.... against her will but my will, she's signing up for softball season this Friday. Congrats honey! Positive re-enforcement verses ripping her face off her head. Works for me! Duch is really oblivious as usual but lately getting back into the "i forgot" stage. Fun! I love that child, really I do, cause she is hysterical. She always looks so very shocked that I scold her for not listening, like she completely forgot that I had asked her anything. It's hard to be mad at her but I manage sometimes. Otherwise, it's a rat race to stay on top of our poop here but we're having fun. Who needs a clean tub anyway?

So kinda excited about a season of foul balls and whiny pre-teen girls......... ohhhh the memories.

Also, work is fabu-lous. Although I know there will come a day when I'll find something I don't like but so far, so good. My cable box was hooked up today so instead of listening to Fox all day long, now I can listen to music channels and on-demand.... bring it! I personally think it's the incentive to encourage me to continue staying in my office as much as I do. Unlike my predecessor, I don't go visiting all day....bless her heart.

okay, off to wash my hair, like a little on lady on Sunday nights........leaves me more time to drool in the mornings.
